Rescuing a Site Cutover with Rapid Field Response
Client Snapshot
Client: Global Temperature-Controlled Logistics Provider
Industry: Logistics
Size: 20,000+ employees
Services Provided: Project Management, Network & Infrastructure Deployment
CLIENT OVERVIEW
This client is a leading global cold storage and logistics company responsible for the storage and transport of temperature-sensitive food products. With hundreds of distribution and warehouse facilities worldwide, they rely on secure, high-performance infrastructure to maintain operational continuity. As a longtime client of Temple IT, we have supported infrastructure modernization initiatives across hundreds of their sites. Projects have included network upgrades, switch replacements, access point deployments, battery backup installations, and user endpoint updates to align with corporate standards.
THE CHALLENGE
At one warehouse location undergoing a domain migration and network re-IP, Temple IT discovered a major gap during initial onsite assessment: only 2 of the required 16 wireless access points (APs) had been installed by a separate vendor. This incomplete installation posed a significant risk to both network performance and the success of the site cutover, threatening to delay go-live and disrupt operations in a temperature-sensitive environment where uptime is critical.
SERVICES DELIVERED
Temple IT was engaged to lead the infrastructure deployment and site migration, including:
- Comprehensive network modernization.
- Configuration and cutover of updated switches, APs, and battery backups.
- Standardization of user workstations, laptops, and printers.
- IP schema alignment and security compliance.
- Full project management and site leadership for the cutover.
When the AP issue was identified, Temple IT’s engineering team immediately escalated the issue and executed a rapid-response contingency plan. Through coordinated vendor communication and in-field leadership, the missing equipment was sourced and staged without delay.
RESULTS
Despite the significant equipment shortfall discovered just before go-live, Temple IT’s proactive response ensured that the site cutover proceeded without any operational disruption. The project was completed on schedule, with full wireless coverage and infrastructure standards met.
The incident underscored Temple IT’s strength in adaptive project management, real-time problem-solving, and vendor coordination under pressure.
Temple IT’s ability to recover from unexpected challenges and deliver on mission-critical timelines reinforced their value as a trusted, strategic partner in the client’s global modernization efforts.
